Speaking now. speaking for the future.
For any organization, receiving feedback is one of the best ways to stay connected with the audience. The survey I had created asked some of the most basic questions regarding media outreach the organization has done thus far. The findings show what media outreach programs are not as widely accepted than others. Furthermore, it was important to find what platform was used most by the most people. After gathering the responses, the next step was responding.
the response.
The last question of the survey asked: "What changes and/or suggestions do you have for improving Women SPEAK's presence and outreach on the Web?" 20% of people said they wanted Women SPEAK to collaborate with similar organizations. So we answered.
On December 2, 2014, Women SPEAK hosted their December Webinar featuring the Director of Hollaback!, the organization that created the viral video "10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman". The Webinar, which occurred on December 2, had received much more attention and feedback from our audience. Unfortunately, the engagement of the audience was not able to be recorded because a Google glitch disabled the Q&A option. This highlighted that although the content and discussion was there, there are also technological hinderances that can affect an organization. This glitch restricted the Team from opening the forum to the audience (which was what our webinars are supposed to be about). Although it did not stop the webinar as a whole, it did take away a large part of the discussion.

Listening to the audience and reacting was a way to keep the attention of the audience. Not only does it maintain viewership and participation, but trust in the organization is also built. Media and technology allows for the Team to work together over a wide span of geographical boundaries while reaching out to people from all around the world.
the future.
Women SPEAK will continue to use media and technology to grow and develop as a non-profit organization.
Started in a coffee shop with just a few Post-it notes, Women SPEAK has come a long way in outreach and development. Without the use of media and technology, the speed and efficiency of growing and sharing the message would have been severely hindered. This goes to show that in today's age, using media is almost required in order to start and share an organization with the public.
Women SPEAK will utilize media and technology to increase communication and presence with their audience so they can provide programs that are better catered to their interests and passions.
This is how we SPEAK! Now let your voice be heard and let us all SPEAK TOGETHER!
It's time to SPEAK.
